The joy of Tim Tams

Tim Tams are a southern hemisphere delicacy. To Brits, they may look like a Penguin, but they’re subtly different.

The joy of these humble little biscuits is what you can do with them and a cup of tea. Not simple dunking, no. The trick is to bite off the top & bottom and then gently suck tea through it. The result is a rather gooey biscuit which looks gross but is oh so satisfying. Apparantly it’s known as the “Tim Tam Slam”.

Incidentally, the trick doesn’t work with Penguins. The chocolate coating melts too quickly and the biscuit falls apart in the tea.
